The sad state of democracy in EU

Read and weep: FFII: The patent directive and the European constitution. It's been decided that we're going to vote on a new EU treaty on September 27. How can they expect me to vote yes to something as broken as this? EU is clearly no democracy - it's a banana republic! I'm terrified.
