Ubuntu/Kubuntu (etc) 6.10 released!

New release is out! I personally run Kubuntu, the KDE version. I upgraded from the previous version about a week ago to the release candidate. That update didn't go too well, but I got some very nice help in the #kubuntu irc channel on freenode.net and I got the problems fixed. The integrated sd-card reader in my Thinkpad Z61t still doesn't work which is a bit annoying, but I haven't really spent much time on it yet. I have hope that I will be able to get it to work. I haven't had much luck with my wireless adapter either. It does get detected, but for some reason I have problems getting it to connect to access points. That has not been that big a deal since (surprisingly) I haven't had the need. Since it is detected, I expect I should be able to get it working properly too.

Other than the problems mentioned above, I really like the new release. I think the (K)Ubuntu people have done a great job!

The United Dictatorship of America

It is shocking! I don't know what to say other than "WOW"! USA is now more or less a dictatorship! Bye bye democracy, we don't need you anymore. George W. Bush invaded Iraq and put an end to a horrible dictatorship (one of the very few good things about that war) and now he's made himself a dictator. How nice.

Down with DRM contest winners

There has been a contest about making videos about DRM and the winners has been announced.

I especially like "Real World DRM by adcBicycle and team" and "Trusted Computing by Benjamn Stephan and Lutz Vogel (Lafkon)".
